SD40T-2 Tunnel Motors
Prototype Information - SD40T-2
EMD produced 312 between 1974 through 1980.
Weighing in at between 388,000 and 410,000 pounds these were well suited for heavy-duty freight applications.
The Prime Mover was a 16 cylinder 645E3 which developed 3000 horsepower.

Model Features :
Unit will be based on the fine running Atlas EMD SD50/60 mechanism..
Engines will be DCC ready - easily converted.
Locos to be equipped with Accu-Mate couplers.
Look for outstanding detail - comparable to InterMountain's EMD FT's.
InterMountain is determined to become a major "player" in the N Scale locomotive market -- and their FT's, F3's, F7's and SD40T-2's certainly bear this out.
Modeling era: 1974 to present.
