The Center Beam Flat has been not only the most popular N Scale, but the most well received car yet made by Red Caboose. The enthusiastic support of N scalers have catapaulted this car to the very top of the Red Caboose line-up. As a result of this popularity, Red Caboose will soon be offering a 3rd version of the 73' Centerbeam Flat Car .. a Single Partition version. These cars are used to carry lumber, trusses and other building materials, sometimes wrapped and sometimes exposed to the elements.

The first 73' 'Center Beams' hit the rails in 1986. Both 'Truss' and 'Opera Window' designs have been used to support these modern freight cars. All of the Red Caboose Center Beams on this page are of the new "Single Partition Truss" design.
