ACF 2 Bay Covd Hoppers
These 2 bay covered hoppers were first designed in 1932 by ACF and were manufactured by over 15 different carbuilders and railroads. Production continued through the mid 1960's. They were used to haul plastics, grain, cement, sulphur--just about anything granulated was carried in these cars. Deluxe offers these hoppers as singles and multi-packs (either 2 or 3 pack sets). Road #'s on the single cars are different from the multi-pack. DeLuxe equips these cars with Micro-Trains trucks / couplers.

Southern Pacific acquired these cars in 1953, originally numbered 165175 thru 165324. They were ultimately moved to the 400600 thru 400749 series. These cars were used for a wide variety of commodities, including sand as well as bulk food service. The SP used a number of different paint schemes on these cars throughout their long period of service on the road. Deluxe has captured this colorful history with this new offering. 6 unique road #'s are offered. Accu-Mate trucks/couplers.
